Elena Sima, renowned ethnographer and beloved folklore performer from the Moldavian region, with a career spanning more than 17 years as a singer of traditional Romanian music, carries an undeniable passion for the study and preservation of authentic folklore.

Honorary citizen of Sascut, jud. Bacău, Mrs. Sima is a Ph.D. student at the University of Bucharest, Department of Cultural Studies, with significant contributions in education and research. A director in pre-university education and a graduate of the Master of Ethnology, Cultural Anthropology and Folklore, she also brings her expertise in music education and ethnographic research.

With concerts and recordings in the Golden Archive of Romanian Radio with the Radio Orchestra under the baton of maestro Adrian Grigoraș, Ms. Sima is an important name in national folklore. She is not only a remarkable artist, but also a dedicated researcher, with notable contributions in scientific communication and relevant articles on Romanian traditions.

She often appears as a member of the jury in important events, alongside great representatives of Romanian folklore, contributing significantly to the development and promotion of the young generation of artists. At the same time, she is a promoter of cultural and artistic events, organizing performances, festivals and celebrations, thus contributing to the consolidation and perpetuation of our traditions. As President of the Dor De Dor-Elena Sima Association, an active member of the Union of Romanian Composers and Musicologists (UCMR) and the National Union of Romanian Artists (UNART), Mrs. Elena Sima represents an essential figure in the preservation and diffusion of Romanian cultural values.
