Matei Bucur Mihăescu is a graduate of the National University of Music in Bucharest, specializing in Orchestra Conducting, and also a graduate of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the National University of Bucharest.

As a musician, he is recognized as a genuine phenomenon, a complex and exceptional musical talent. With a very rich stage experience as a pianist, composer and conductor, Matei Bucur Mihăescu is considered "the magic wand of contemporary Romanian classical music".

His repertoire as a solo pianist spans over 400 years of music and includes works of various styles and levels of difficulty by classical, modern and contemporary composers.

The compositional oeuvre of Matei Bucur Mihăescu includes more than 400 musical works for piano, orchestra, choir and various instrumental formulas, as well as for vocal soloists, which have been performed on major stages by renowned artists. His compositions cover a wide range of styles, from classical to pop and film music.

The extraordinary recitals and concerts he performed since the age of 9 brought him standing ovations in many prestigious concert halls in Romania and abroad ( Romanian Athenæum's Great Hall, National Opera of Bucharest, Ion Dacian Operetta and Musical Theatre, Romanian Radio Broadcasting Concert Hall, George Enescu Museum; Berlin, London, Warsaw, Venice, Vilnius, Vienna, Paris, Budapest).

In 2008 he founded his own orchestra CaMMerata (with two M's from Matei Mihăescu) which he conducted and led to numerous successes: the CaMMerata musical season; "George Enescu" International Festival (2011, 2013, 2017 editions); the extraordinary concert performed at the National Opera of Bucharest, as composer and conductor, conducting his own orchestra and the Madrigal National Chamber Choir; the original Concertarium project.

In a musical career spanning more than 15 years, he released seven CDs and two music videos featuring his original musical creations. He has published three booklets of scores at the Musical Publishing House of the Romanian Union of Composers and Musicologists, including a selection of his compositions for piano solo. He composed original music for a children's movie, as well as for a Romanian-Italian co-production theatre play and for two movies produced by TVR (Circus Mateo and The Apostle Bologa - which was awarded the UNITER Prize in 2019).

In recognition of his outstanding career as a pianist, composer and conductor, Romfilatelia in partnership with the Romanian Post Office, issued a personalized envelope entitled "Matei Bucur Mihăescu - pianist and composer" . He also received the Rollywood Production House Trophy for Music, the Excellence Award of the Romanian Union of Performers, Choreographers and Music Critics, the title of ,, Ambassador of Romanian culture around the world" - offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Corp Partners Association, the Diploma of Excellence for the exceptional contribution in the musical creation and interpretation field - offered by the Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sport, as well as the George Enescu Distinction "as a sign of high appreciation for the results obtained in his career and the personal example given to current and future generations".

Since 2010, the Matei Bucur Mihăescu Musical Interpretation Competition has been held annually - a veritable nursery and launching pad for young artists. Since 2015, Matei Bucur Mihăescu initiates the original project called "Knights of Music - The Season of Valor", which aims to identify, support and promote young Romanian authentic talents, as well as to reward individuals/legal entities that carry out a sustainable cultural patronage activity.

The model of his artistic success gave Matei Bucur Mihăescu the premises to start another important project, the creation of a strategic partnership of young Romanians from all over the world, which aims to support, encourage and promote them towards creating a modern Romania - Club M.
